Welcome to the community of Balaton!
Our Public school system is consolidated with Tracy for grades K-12 and is known as TMB...Tracy/Milroy/Balaton. Our school district has been named in national publications as one of the best in the nation several times.
The former school building in Balaton was purchased shortly after the consolidation by Ralco, Inc. which is headquartered in Marshall. While the gymnasium is leased by the TMB school district the remainder of building underwent much remodeling to accommodate offices, work areas and research facilities for the newly name Technical Campus of Ralco, Inc. A portion of the building also houses a new fitness center called Body Tech.
Lake Yankton, located along U.S. Hwy 14 on the north edge of town, is a popular place year-round. the summer months offer swimming, boating, fishing and areas for family gatherings, while the winter also provides some good ice fishing. Lakeside Park is the center point for the kickoff of our annual Fun Fest celebration which takes place on the weekend nearest the Fourth of July each year.
Lions Park is located right downtown and features sand volleyball court, clay horseshoe pits a new playground and picnic shelter. A large athletic field on the west edge of town features a lighted softball field, lots of open space and a new disc golf course. Balaton Parks are enjoyed by kids of all ages.
